Syn.: Malaxis paludosa (L.) Sw.

This acidophilous peat-land species occurs in large parts of Europe (except extreme N and the Mediterranean region) and infrequently through S. Siberia and boreal N. America. It occurs irregularly also within the hatched area. The species is amphiatlantic (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 270 and map 252) but has also a circumpolar tendency. Cf. Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 111.
