1918 Lapsana communis L.

This species is probably indigenous in the C. and SE. European vegetation. From there it has spread widely with settlement and farming, for instance to Fennoscandia and further to N. and S. America, Tasmania and New Zealand. S of the broken line through SE. Europe subsp. intermedia (Bieb.) Hayek dominates (cf. Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 344).
