1777 Filago arvensis L.

Syn.: F. montana L. p. p., Oglifa arvensis (L.) Cass., Logfia arvensis (L.) Holub

This species occurs in Europe and W. Asia. It has been favoured by the clearing of dry, sandy ground. The population in the southern mountains (approximately S of the line on the map) is distinguished as subsp. lagopus (Steph.) Nym. (cf. Fl. Eur.4/1976, p. 124). The species has been sparsely introduced into N. America.
