Syn.: Hackelia deflexa (Wahlenb.) Opiz

This boreal-montane, polymorphic species has a disjunct distribution pattern in Eurasia (subsp. deflexa). It occurs as an adventive in several places in Europe. The N. American population is distinguished as subsp. americana (Gray) Hult. The species s. lat. belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 168 and map 159).
