397 Eleocharis uniglumis (Link) Schult.

Syn.: Scirpus uniglumis Link

This widespread species belongs to a group of taxa which is closely related to the E. palustris group (no. 396 and 398). According to Fl. URSS IIl/1935, p. 80 ff., several taxa of species rank may be distinguished within E. uniglumis s. lat. It is at present impossible to map them separately. However, an attempt is made to map E. kamtschatica (C. A. Mey.) Kom. (including E. sachalinensis [Meinsh.] Kom., E. komarovii Zinserl., E. savatieri C. B. Clarke and E. mitrata [Franch. & Sav.] Makino), which probably have a disjunct distribution in E. Asia and N. America. E. uniglumis s. lat. belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 120 and map 112). Outside the map area it has a wide distribution (SE. Asia, Australia, New Zealand, S. America), apparently as a native plant (cf. Hultén, 1. cit.).
