This anthropochorous species originates from Europe. It is widely spread by man, for instance to N. America and New Zealand, possibly also to Korea (Nakai). With its present distribution it is an amphiatlantic plant with a circumpolar tendency. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 140.
