Mer information om arten

1025 Saxifraga caespitosa L.

Syn.: S. groenlandica L.

This arctic-subarctic species is also montane in western N. America. It is a polymorphic species with some more or less well-defined subspecies (cf. Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 96, for northern N. America Porsild and Cody 1980, p. 388). In the W., C. and S. European mountains closely related taxa occur, viz. (1) S. rosacea Moench (incl. subsp. sponhemica [Gmel.] Webb), see no. 1026, (2) S. continentalis (Engl. & Irmsch.) Webb in SE. France and N. Iberian Peninsula and (3) S. globulifera Desf. in S. Spain and the Atlas mountains. S. rosacea (syn.: S. caespitosa subsp. decipiens [Ehrh.] Engl. & Irmsch.) is included in the S. caespitosa map in Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 203. The distribution of S. caespitosa is circumpolar. It is reported among the amphi-atlantic plants by Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 96 and map 78.
