430 Carex capitata L. var. arctogena (H. Sm.) Hult.

This arctic and high mountain taxon was described by H. Smith 1940 as a species. It belongs preliminarily to the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 38 and map 19) hut may be found also E of Fennoscandia. The closely related C antarctogena Roiv. is described from southern S. America (Tierra del Fuego). World map in Meusel et al. 1965, p. 64.
