Juncus alpinoarticulatus
189 Juncus alpinus Vill.
Within this polymorphic species several lower taxa are distinguished (cf. Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 96; Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 110). Some of them have their own distribution pattern (for NW. Europe see Hultén, Atlas 1971, maps 431-435; for Eurasia see L. HämetAhti in Mem. Soc. F. & Fl. Fenn. 56/1980, map p. 99). However, it seems too early to draw world maps for these taxa. The species s. lat. belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, op. cit., map 88). Recently, L. Hämet-Ahti has shown that J. alpinoarticulatus Chaix should be the legitimate name for J. alpinus Vill. (Ann. Bot. Fenn. 17 /1980, p. 341 f.).
