This species is restricted to Europe and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. The distribution seems to be somewhat uncertain towards S. and E. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 39, and Hempel in Feddes Repert. 81:10 (1971), map p. 685.
