1919 Taraxacum, the section Erythrosperma H. Lindb.

This large section of apomictic and sexual taxa (68 species according to Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 338) originates from W. Europe (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 274). Some taxa have spread towards the east (the eastern limit is uncertain) and some to N. America. Today the section shows a tendency towards circumpolar distribution (op. cit., p. 274 and map 266).
