1603 Glechoma hederacea L.

This species s. lat. is widely distributed as a native plant in Eurasia. In S. and partly C. and W. Europe subsp. hirsuta (Waldst. & Kit.) Herrn. also occurs. The population in E. Asia is distinguished as subsp. grandis (A. Gray) Hara. The species has been introduced into N. America, SE. Asia and New Zealand. The present distribution is discontinuous circumpolar (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 395 and map 274). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 379.
