1917 Lactuca tatarica (L.) C. A. Mey.

Syn.: Mulgedium tataricum (L.) DC.

This species originates from the steppe region of E. Europe and Asia (subsp. tatarica). From there it has spread towards W and N in Europe where it has been recorded casually in late times. The N. American population is distinguished as subsp. pulchella (Pursh) Stebbins.
