439 Carex davalliana Sm.

This mainly European species is closely related to C. diocia L. and C. para/leta (Laest.) Sommerf. It is extinct in some of the earlier known localities in N. C. Europe. Furthermore, the closely related, mainly Asiatic C. redowskiana C. A. Mey. is tentatively mapped (cf. nos. 437 and 438). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 65.
