1341 Helianthemum canum (L.) Baumg.

This variable species occurs in parts of Europe, NW. Africa and Asia Minor. Seven subspecies are distinguished according to Fl. Eur. 2/1968, p. 290. It is closely related to (and perhaps confused with) H. oelandicum (no. 1340). It has a somewhat larger distribution area than the previous species. However, the area was probably diminished and disrupted during postglacial time. Its occurrence is partly incompletely known. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 288.
