1308 Althaea officinalis L.

This species originates from S. Europe and S. Siberia. It is also considered native in Denmark and adjacent parts of the S. Baltic coast. It has long been cultivated as a medicinal plant also beyond its natura! range and has escaped to the local vegetation. The map is probably incomplete. It has been introduced into N. America.
