60 Polystichum lonchitis (L.) Roth

This only slightly variable, mainly arctic-montane species occurs in Eurasia and N. America. It is probably extinct in Scania, S. Sweden (3 dots). It belongs to the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 238 and map 219). However, it shows a tendency towards a circumpolar distribution. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 18.
