Syn.: C. demissa Homem.

This species belongs to the critical C. flava group. It occurs in parts of N., W. and C. Europe (approximately mapped) and in eastern N. America. Thus, it belongs to the amphi-atlantic plants (not mentioned in Hultén, Amphi-atl., because of uncertainty concerning its American origin; cf. Circumpol. I, p. 170).
