787 Silene otites (L.) Wib.

This variable species, preliminarily and incompletely drawn, belongs to a complex of species, int. al. S. wolgensis (Willd.) Bess. ex Spr., with more or less easterly distribution. Besides S. wolgensis, S. polaris Kleop. (included in S. otites in Fl. Eur. 1/1964, p. 167) is probably also represented on the map. The limit of the range is drawn mainly according to Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 138. This S. otites group should be studied more thoroughly taxonomically and geographically.
