107 Potamogeton pusillus L.

Syn.: P. panormitanus Biv.

This widespread, Eurasiatic and N. American species is named P. panormitanus Biv. in Hultén's Circumpol. I, p. 126 and map 118, and in his Atlas 1971, map 101. In Lid's Norsk og svensk flora 1974, p. 70, it also has this name, but with P. berchtoldii Fieb. as a synonym (cf. no. 108). This confusing nomenclature has obviously to some degree caused uncertainty concerning the distribution, especially in Asia. For N. America see Fernald in Mem. Amer. Acad. Arts & Sci. 17:1 (1932). The species is reported from several places in Africa.
