1722 Plantago coronopus L.

This species includes four subspecies (Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 40) of which only subsp. coronopus occurs outside the Mediterranean region. It generally follows the coasts but occurs also locally inland on saline soil. It has been introduced as a weed into the interior of Europe and several other parts of the world, in N.
