1587 Galeopsis bifida Boenn.

This originally Eurasiatic species is sometimes confused with G. tetrahit. It has a much wider distribution than G. tetrahit (cf. no. 1586). It has been introduced as a weed into N. America (reports of both species together on the map) and New Zealand. Totally, the present distribution is circumpolar (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 234 and map 226).
