508 Carex pediformis C. A. Mey.

This Eurasiatic species is rare or lacking in N., W. and S. Europe. Within the European population three subspecies have been distinguished (Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 311). The species definitely occurs more frequently in Asia than the map shows. Closely related taxa are reported from E. Asia. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 74.
