1237 Trifolium fragiferum L.

This Eurasiatic and N. African species has two subspecies, viz. subsp. fragiferum in most of the total area and subsp. bonannii (C. Presl) Sojak mainly S of the broken line where it seems to dominate. It has been introduced into northern parts of Fennoscandia, S. Africa, N. America, Australia and New Zealand, mostly occurring in lawns. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 238.
