416 Rhynchospora alba (L.) Vahl

This widespread species has a disjunct distribution in Eurasia and N. America. It is reported among the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 268 und map 249). However, it shows a tendency towards a circumpolar distribution. The closely related R. macra (Clarke) Small occurs S of R. alba in N. America. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 63.
