458 Carex divulsa Stakes

This species is mainly restricted to Europe (except N and E) and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. It includes subsp. divulsa (S. and W. parts of the range) and subsp. leersi (Kneuck.) W. Koch (most of the range except SW); cf. Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 298. The distribution of the species is insufficiently known, especially eastwards. It has been introduced into eastern N. America and S. America (Buenos Aires) but is probably native in Java (Kew Bull. 1946, p. 28).
