1317 Hypericum perforatum L.

This variable species originates from Europe, N. Africa and W. Asia. In northern Fennoscandia and certainly in other outlying localities it is a casual. It has been introduced into N. and S. America, Australia and New Zealand. Southwards var. angustifolium predominates. This taxon has also been introduced into Japan. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 285.
