Holarctic range of this variable species (Fl. Eur. 1/1964, p. 164) is originally restricted to Europe and W. Asia. The distribution is irregular within the hatched area. The species has been introduced into eastern N. America and New Zealand. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 138.
