The distribution of this mainly W. European species is insufficiently known because of confusion with related taxa (cf. nos. 545 and 547).

Syn.: E. persica auct.

This N. European species belongs to the critical E. leptochila group (Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 327 f.). It is questionable whether it merits recognition as a species (l. cit.). Cf. also Hylander, Nord. kärlväxtfl. 2, p. 200f.
