This mainly arctic species is reported among the amphi-atlantic plants by Hultén (Amphi-atl., p. 224 and map 206), but now shows a clear tendency towards circumpolar distribution. It is definitely insufficiently known from Siberia and, partly, N. America, Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 71.
