1748 Scabiosa columbaria L.

This polymorphic species occurs in most of Europe (except in N and NE) and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. In the southern half of the range (S of the broken line) subsp. gramuntia (L.) Hayek (syn.: S. triandra L.) dominates. The species has been sparsely introduced into N. America.
