1257 Onobrychis arenaria (Kit.) DC.

This polymorphic species occurs from C. Europe east wards to C. Asia. Fl. Eur. 2/1968, p. 190 reports seven subspecies, each with rather distinct distribution. It includes also the Asiatic O. sibirica Turcz. and O. tanaitica Spreng. in European Russia to Kazakhstan (oval signs). The map is partly incomplete. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 248.
