The map shows the distribution of this variable species and its var. undulata (Thunb.) Ohwi in Asia. The mapping must still be considered as preliminary. The dots in C. Finland mark adventive occurrences. It is regarded as native in N. America (amphi-atlantic in Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 164 and map 146) but as introduced in New Zealand and other southem parts of the world. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 144.
