1794 Inula salicina L.

This species occurs in most of Europe (except N, SW and partly W) and W. and C. Asia with subsp. salicina in most of the range. In the southern and southeastern part of the range subsp. aspera (Poir.) Hayek also occurs (cf. Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 134). The population in E. Asia is distinguished as subsp. asiatica (Kitam.) Kitag.
