1195 Oxytropis deflexa (Pall.) DC.

Total range of this rather polymorphic, mainly arctic-montane species has a disjunct distribution in Eurasia and N. America. Subsp. deflexa occurs in E. Siberia and the C. Asiatic mountains, subsp. norvegica Nordh. in one single place in N. Norway, far from other O. deflexa populations, and subsp. retrorsa (Fem.) Hult. unpubl. (syn.: var. sericea Torr. & Gray) in northwestern and western N. America. The present scattered occurrences of this species may be regarded as remains of a circumpolar distribution.
