Thelypteris palustris
38 Thelypteris palustris Schott
Syn.: int. al. Dryopteris thelypteris (L.) A. Gray, Lastrea thelypteris (L.) Bory
Besides the Eurasiatic species s. str. (var. palustris) the distribution of two other varieties is mapped (E. Asia and N. America). Further, this polymorphic species occurs in the southern hemisphere, cf. the notes in the margin of the map. In S. Africa, S. India and New Zealand it is represented by subsp. squamigera (Schlecht) Hult. The species s. lat. belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 180 and map 170), although there is a wide gap between the E. Asiatic and C. and E. American areas.
