1758 Campanula trachelium L.

This species occurs as a native and adventive plant in most of Europe (except N) and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. It has been favoured by clearings. Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 88 distinguishes, besides subsp. trachelium, subsp. athoa (Boiss. & Heldr.) Hayek on the Balkan peninsula (not marked on the map). The species has been introduced into N. America and New Zealand.
