1480 Trientalis europaea L.

This species includes subsp. europaea in most of northern boreal Eurasia and in a restricted area in northwestern N. America and subsp. arctica (Fisch.) Hult. in E. Asia and northwestern N. America. Further, the map shows T. borealis Raf. in eastern and northcentral N. America and subsp. latifolia (Hook.) Hult. in western N. America. This complex of more or less boreal taxa has a circumpolar distribution (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 369 f. and map 148). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 334.
