This calciphilous species occurs mainly in W., C. and E. Europe. However, it is rare in parts of the hatched area in the east. It is reported to be extinct in several localities, for instance in Denmark, E.C. Sweden and partly Scania. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 109.
