This rather widespread species belongs to a group of closely related species, for instance R. corymbifera Borkh. which is included on this map. Like R. majalis, this species s. lat. is cultivated and naturalized within and outside its original range (most of Europe and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia). It has been introduced into N.
