746 Cerastium arcticum Lange

This species belongs to the so-called west-arctic plants. The very closely related C. edmondstonii (Wats.) Murb. & Ostenf. (syn.: C. arcticum subsp. edmonstonii [Wats.] A. & D. Löve) is restricted to the Shetlands. See further the treatment of the whole C. alpinum complex by Hultén (Sv. Bot. Tidskr. 50/1956, p. 411 ff.).
