Syn.: Cardaminopsis petraea (L.) Hiit.

This boreal-montane species is widely but somewhat disjunctly distributed in Eurasia. The populations E of Fennoscandia may differ from this taxon, being distinguished as A. septentrionalis Busch in N. Asia and A. media Busch in N. Asia and possibly NW. Alaska (cf. A. arenicola [Rich.] Gelert var. pubescens [S. Wats.] Gelert in Hultén, Fl. Alaska Neighbor. Terr., p. 544 and, further, Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 188).
