1594 Lamiastrum galeobdolon (L.) Ehrend. & Polatsch.

Syn.: Lamium galeobdolon (L.) L.

This species is mainly restricted to Europe (beech forests and· montane woods). It includes three subspecies according to Fl. Eur. 3/1972, p. 148 f., viz. subsp. galeobdolon within the hatched area of W., C. and partly E. Europe, subsp. montanum (Pers.) Ehrend. & Polatsch. in the central parts of this area, and subsp. flavidum (F. Herrn.) Ehrend. & Polatsch. mainly in the Alps and Appennines. There are some adventive occurrences in Fennoscandia.
