Rumex obtusifolius
670 Rumex obtusifolius L.
This polymorphic species originates from Europe. Among the subspecies, which are distinguished within the original distribution area (cf. Fl. Eur. 1/1964, p. 88), subsp. subalpinus (Schur) Celak. Is mapped separately. Subsp. obtusifolius (syn.: subsp. agrestis [Fr.] Celak.) occurs casually outside the original area (e. g. in N. and C. Fennoscandia). The species has also been introduced and naturalized in several other parts of the world (E. Asia, N. America, Australia etc.). With the present distribution the species s. lat. belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 256 and map 248). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 129.
