Ruppia maritima
120 Ruppia maritima L.
Syn.: R. rostellata Koch
This widespread species (incl. same varieties) is restricted to saline water, mostly at the seacoasts but also locally inland. It occurs through large parts of Eurasia and N. America. However, the knowledge of the distribution is uneven. Thus, the map is preliminary, especially for Asia. The species belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 134 and map 125). It occurs also outside the map area, for instance in C. and S. Africa, S. and SE. Asia, Australia, New Zealand and S. America.
