Mer information om arten

194 Juncus maritimus Lam.

This European, N. African and W. Asiatic species grows on salt-marshes and saline inland meadows. The occurrence (now extinct) in eastern N. America (Staten Isl., N. Y.) was doubtless introduced, as also on the Bermudas(?). The species is reported among the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 296 and map 277). It occurs also, at least partly as introduced, in W., E. and S. Africa, S. America, Australia and New Zealand. Cf. world maps by H. Weimarck in Sv. Bot. Tidskr. 40/1946, p. 149, and Meusel et al. 1965, p. 84.
