1356 Epilobium latifolium L.

Syn.: Chamaenerion latifolium (L.) Scop.

This arctic-montane species is widely distributed mainly in Asia and N. America. It belongs to the cir­cumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 58 and map 50), although it is lacking in most of Europe. In the Himalayas it is replaced by subsp. speciosum (DC.) Raven and E. conspersum Hausskn. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 298.
