813 Nymhaea alba L. subsp. candida (J. Presl) Asch. & Graebn.

This subspecies is restricted to parts of Europe and W. Asia. It is often considered as a separate species. Hybrids with subsp. alba (no. 812) occur, making the limits somewhat diffuse. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 153.
