This species is closely related to (and probably confused with) A. tatarica L. (syn.: A. rosea var. subintegra C.A.M.) in C. and W. Asia and spread into C. Europe. A. rosea is secondarily spread within Europe (e. g. to France [cf. map 521 in Atlas Fl. Eur. 5/1980] and Scandinavia) and to N. and S. America. The map is incomplete in many respects; cf., however, Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 134.
