Syn.: Lepidotis inundata (L.) Börner, Lycopodiella inundata (L.) Holub

This species includes the varieties bigelowii Tuckerm. and robustum R. J. Eat., both in N. America and tentatively mapped here. Also, in the islolated Japanese area the species is variable. L. inundatum also occurs in China according to Ohwi, Fl. Japan 1965, p. 24. It belongs to the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 216 and map 198).
